BOOK A CALL

On 23rd April 2025, the Magento community gathered once again for an evening filled with insightful discussions and networking at the Meet Magento Poznań Meetup. Organised by Snowdog with logistical support from Tpay, and delicious pizza and drinks provided by Centuria, the event showcased the best of Magento's evolving ecosystem. As the presentations were in polish here's a detailed recap of the event, including the key takeaways from the three fantastic presentations.

A gathering of minds and innovation

The meetup maintained its reputation as the go-to event for Magento developers and e-commerce enthusiasts in Poland. From tech-packed talks to networking opportunities, the night had it all. This time, it took place on the 17th floor of Andersia Tower, offering not only cutting-edge discussions but also a spectacular view of Poznań.

Epic news for the community? The next meetup is already in planning for June 2025. If you've been itching to present, now’s the time to submit your ideas for the call for papers!

Agenda highlights

The evening included three insightful presentations that spanned tools, innovations, and case studies, showcasing how Magento keeps adapting to meet industry demands.

1. Sławomir Szymkowicz – “Warden in Practice”

The first presentation by Sławomir Szymkowicz of Fabrity Commerce provided a comprehensive look at utilising Warden to enhance project management efficiency.

Key Takeaways:

  • Faster Project Onboarding: Sławomir showcased how Warden can cut project installation times drastically—from 4–6 hours down to just 15 minutes.
  • Seamless Environments: Warden creates clean project environments without requiring local application installations.
  • Customisation at Scale: Tools within Warden allow tailored configurations both globally and at the project level.
  • Advanced Extensions with Tools like CaptainHook enhance code quality by blocking invalid commits, ensuring every submission meets project standards.
  • A Comparison to DDEV revealed that while Warden is not intended for production use, it excels in managing local environments efficiently.

Sławomir’s in-depth and practical knowledge left the audience inspired, emphasising Warden’s capabilities for accelerating workflows and boosting team productivity.Sławek demonstrated the coding process in real time, showcasing how seamless and efficient it is with Warden.

2. Kamil Balwierz – “Hyvä Checkout and CSP”

Up next, Kamil Balwierz explored the evolution of payment extensions, putting the spotlight on Hyvä Checkout and Content Security Policy (CSP).

Key Takeaways:

  • Kamil highlighted Hyvä Magewire Checkout, a paid Magento extension that offers advanced features for bespoke checkout processes.
  • Integration with PCI-DSS 4.0 outlined new anti-fraud strategies, addressing threats like fake payment forms and malicious data injections.
  • CSP tools such as Hyvä CSP Helper are key to hardening security policies. Tools like SanSec Watch also complement these efforts, providing actionable reports and recommendations for enhancing security.
  • Design-wise, the new Hyvä Checkout supports one-step and two-step checkout flows tailored for mobile optimization.

Kamil not only demonstrated technical expertise but also illustrated how extensions like Hyvä improve both developer experience and online security.

3. Bartosz Górski – "Performance Case Study for Adobe Commerce"

The final presentation came from Bartosz Górski, who shared a fascinating performance-focused case study drawn from a global Adobe Commerce implementation.

Key Takeaways:

  • Critical Performance Goals: Bartosz highlighted performance benchmarks such as sub-4-second response times and optimised Core Web Vitals (CWV).
  • Tech Stack Optimisation: Adobe’s ecosystem was fine-tuned using tools like New Relic, Loadrunner, and JMeter to monitor and improve performance metrics.
  • Frontend Transformation: Transitioning away from PWA Studio to a gradual Next.js implementation improved page speed and CWV scores significantly.
  • Backend Prioritisation: Bartosz used Blackfire and SPX tools to analyse backend processes, identifying and resolving top bottlenecks.
  • A Focus on Process: Innovations like GrumPHP validated code while defining clear performance tests in the development pipeline.

The results? A responsive site boasting 90–100 Lighthouse scores, setting new standards for large-scale e-commerce platforms.

Looking ahead

Meet Magento Poznań Meetup continues to foster knowledge-sharing and mutual support within our vibrant community. Don’t forget to sign up on Meetup.com for future events—we’ll be back in June 2025 with more engaging talks (and, of course, pizza and beer).
